Build A Ring Farm Skill Tree: all 49 skills, none of them cost a thing
The Update 8 Skill Tree holds 49 permanent upgrades across 3 branches and 7 sub-branches. Reach Floor 3, click the Huge Tree in front of your plot, and every skill is yours for completing a mission — no cash, no Robux, no tokens.

How to unlock it
There is exactly one gate on the Skill Tree, and it is not a price. You need Floor 3.
- 1
Unlock Floor 3
The tree does not exist until your farm reaches Floor 3. Nothing you do before then affects it, and no gamepass grants early access.
- 2
Find the Huge Tree
Once Floor 3 is open, a Huge Tree spawns on the empty ground directly in front of your plot. It is a world object rather than a menu button, so you have to walk over to it.
- 3
Click the tree
Clicking the Huge Tree opens the Skill Tree interface with all 3 branches visible from the start. Deeper tiers stay locked until their mission and prerequisites are met.
- 4
Complete missions to claim skills
Every skill is a mission with a counter attached. Tier 1 missions clear themselves through normal play; deeper tiers ask for specific event, contract, or mutation counts.
Best unlock order
All 49 skills are eventually free, so the only real decision is sequence. Prerequisites run across branches: Late-Game T1 gates three separate Tier 5 skills, and the Crops sub-branch — labelled Farming in prerequisite text — gates six more. Clearing those early keeps the tree from stalling.
This order is our recommendation, based on reward value and the prerequisite chain. It is not an official path, and the game lets you claim any unlocked skill in any order.
Free wins
6 skillsSix Tier 1 missions that complete themselves through normal play. Hatching 15 pets, composting 10 times, and taking part in 3 events all happen before you notice, so claim them the moment the tree opens.

Player branch
Three sub-branches built around what you do rather than what you grow: pets, live events, and contracts. Half the Farm Earnings percentages in the tree sit here, alongside the Saw Yield and Sprinkler bonuses.

Farm branch
Crops, Composter, and Mutations. This is where the sell-value multipliers live, and the Crops sub-branch is the one other branches keep calling Farming in their prerequisites.
Crops
Harvest counts, seed rolls, and Floor 4 income. Other branches refer to this sub-branch as Farming when they list it as a prerequisite.
| Tier | Skill | Requirement | Reward | Prerequisite |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T1 | Growing Roots | Harvest 5,000 crops on Floor 3 or higher | +1.5% Farm Earnings | — |
| T2 | Ring Tiller | Harvest 35,000 crops on Floor 3+ and earn 100Q from crops | +2.5% crop sell value | — |
| T3 | Seed Whisperer | Roll seeds 3,000 times | +3% Farm Earnings | — |
| T4 | Bountiful Rows | Harvest 15,000 mutated crops on Floor 3+ | +4% mutated crop sell value | Mutation T1 |
| T5 | Golden Orchard | Earn 25Sp cash from Floor 4 crops | +6% Plant Earnings | Late-Game T1 |
| T6 | Mycelial Appraiser | Earn 2.5Sp cash from Floor 4 crops | +5% mutated crop sell value | — |
| T7 | Celestial Agronomist | Roll 5 Celestial seeds | +6% Farm Earnings | Late-Game T6 |
Composter
Compost submissions and Overgrown rewards. Its Tier 7 pays the single largest number in the tree at +75% submitted crop value.
| Tier | Skill | Requirement | Reward | Prerequisite |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T1 | Rich Soil | Compost 10 times | +5% Composter Reward Luck | — |
| T2 | Prime Mixture | Claim 15 Overgrown composter rewards | +10% Overgrown reward luck | — |
| T3 | Overgrown Batch | Submit 50qd in total composter value | +5% submitted crop value | — |
| T4 | Premium Soil | Use the composter 50 times | -20% composter cooldown | — |
| T5 | Garden Alchemy | Submit 100qd to the Floor 4 composter | +15% submitted crop value | Farming T3 |
| T6 | Overgrowth Oracle | Claim 75 Overgrown composter rewards | +25% Overgrown reward luck | — |
| T7 | Deep Soil Investor | Submit 500qd to the Floor 4 composter | +75% submitted crop value | Farming T6 |
Mutations
Weather mutations, sprays, and Cosmic+ harvests. Two tiers give a chance for a spray not to be consumed when you use it.
| Tier | Skill | Requirement | Reward | Prerequisite |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T1 | Weather Watcher | Take part in 10 weather events | +3% sell value on weather-mutated crops | — |
| T2 | Spray Specialist | Use 75 sprays | +5% mutated crop sell value | — |
| T3 | Rare Reaction | Harvest 5,000 Radioactive, Rainbow, or Cosmic crops | +7.5% Rainbow+ sell value | — |

| T7 | Master of Mutations | Harvest 500,000 Cosmic or higher mutated crops | 5% chance a spray is not consumed | Farming T6 |
Late-Game branch
A single sub-branch of 7 tiers that acts as the spine of the whole tree. Its first tier gates three Tier 5 skills, its sixth gates two Tier 7 skills, and its own Tier 4 and Tier 7 require you to have levelled every other sub-branch.
Floor 4, Celestial seeds, and cumulative cash. Half of these tiers are gated on progress made elsewhere in the tree.
| Tier | Skill | Requirement | Reward | Prerequisite |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T1 | Four Floor Farmer | Unlock Floor 4 and reach Saw Yield level 50 | +3% Farm Earnings | Farming T2 |
| T2 | High Roller | Roll seeds 25,000 times | +15% Seed Luck | Farming T3 |
| T3 | Rare Roots | Own 10 Cosmic plants | +10% Sprinkler Boost | Mutation T3 |
| T4 | Master of Systems | Reach Tier 4 in every other sub-branch | +10% Saw Yield Boost | — |
| T5 | Ancient Harvest | Earn 500Sp cash in total | +10% Farm Earnings | Three branches at T5 |
| T6 | Celestial Magnet | Roll 15 Celestial seeds | +20% mutated crop earnings | — |
| T7 | Ring Farm Ascendant | Reach Tier 7 in every other sub-branch | +12% Farm Earnings | — |
Total Farm Earnings bonus
12 of the 49 skills reward Farm Earnings directly. Added together they come to +53.5%, which is the figure worth planning around — provided the game adds them.
- If bonuses add up
- +53.5%
- If bonuses compound
- +67.8%
| Skill | Sub-branch | Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Event Regular | Events T1 | +1% |
| Event Collector | Events T4 | +3% |
| Event Veteran | Events T5 | +5% |
| Reliable Farmer | Contracts T2 | +1% |
| Bulk Shipment | Contracts T4 | +3% |
| Celestial Ledger | Contracts T7 | +5% |
| Growing Roots | Crops T1 | +1.5% |
| Seed Whisperer | Crops T3 | +3% |
| Celestial Agronomist | Crops T7 | +6% |
| Four Floor Farmer | Late-Game T1 | +3% |
| Ancient Harvest | Late-Game T5 | +10% |
| Ring Farm Ascendant | Late-Game T7 | +12% |
What is still unknown
The Skill Tree is new and community documentation is still filling in. These are the gaps we will not guess at.
How the percentages stack
Additive or multiplicative is the single biggest open question, and it is the difference between +53.5% and +67.8% Farm Earnings across the whole tree.
Events Tier 7
The seventh Events skill has no name, mission, or reward on record. It is the only blank tier in the tree, and it blocks Late-Game T7, which requires Tier 7 everywhere else.
Crops T5 asks for more than Crops T6
Golden Orchard wants 25Sp of Floor 4 crop income while Mycelial Appraiser, one tier later, wants 2.5Sp. Either the thresholds are recorded the wrong way round or the tree really is out of order, so we have left both exactly as documented.
The two spray-refund chances
Mutations T4 gives a 10% chance a spray is not consumed and Mutations T7 gives 5%. Whether that means 15% in total or the later skill simply replaces the earlier one has never been confirmed.
Whether skills can be reset
No respec, refund, or reset has been documented. Since nothing costs currency, a reset would serve little purpose, but we cannot confirm one does not exist.
Skill data compiled from the Build A Ring Farm Wiki (Fandom), checked 2026-07-27. The wiki reflects the tree as it stands today rather than as it launched in Update 8 — later tiers reference Floor 4 and Celestial seeds, both added afterwards. Source: https://barf.fandom.com
Skill Tree FAQ
How do you unlock the Skill Tree in Build A Ring Farm?
Reach Floor 3. A Huge Tree then appears on the open ground directly in front of your plot, and clicking it opens the Skill Tree menu. That is the only requirement — no level, quest, or purchase is attached to it.
Does the Skill Tree cost anything in Build A Ring Farm?
No. None of the 49 skills costs cash, Robux, or tokens, and no gamepass unlocks them faster. Every skill is claimed by completing its mission, which makes the tree the cheapest permanent boost in the game.
How many skills are in the Build A Ring Farm Skill Tree?
49 in total — 3 branches split into 7 sub-branches of 7 tiers each. 1 of them, the seventh Events tier, has not been announced yet.
What is the best order to unlock Skill Tree skills?
Claim the six Tier 1 missions first, since normal play completes them anyway, then clear Crops T2 and Late-Game T1 — Late-Game T1 is the prerequisite for three separate Tier 5 skills. Contracts T3 and Mutations T3 come next because they unblock Events T5 and Late-Game T3. This is our recommendation rather than an official path.
Do Skill Tree bonuses stack additively or multiplicatively?
Unknown. The game shows each reward as a flat percentage and never explains how two of them combine. Summing the 12 Farm Earnings rewards gives +53.5%; compounding them gives +67.8%. Until someone runs a controlled test, plan around the lower figure.
Can you reset or respec the Skill Tree?
No reset has been documented. Because skills cost nothing to unlock and none of them conflict with each other, there is no obvious reason to respec — take every skill you qualify for.
